A home in Rogersville needed a bedroom, and a cure for an extremely wet basement. An outdoor patio roof was removed to allow for a large addition that contained a big bedroom and a bathroom.

The water problem was controlled in a two prong approach. First, two large outdoor flower garden planters were suspected to be the culprits catching run-off water from the driveway and holding it against the side of the house until it had time to seep through the wall and into the basement.

These were replaced with a new concrete walk that made it much easier to get onto the front porch as well as preventing any water to seep through the foundation.

Inside the house, a trough was created around the perimeter to control any water that might get in if the outside effort didn't catch it. The trough terminated at a drain.

In addition, a dehumidifier was installed to remove moisture and drain it into the drain also.
