After wall framing is finished the outside walls are insulated, then the drywall goes up. Green board is used in high moisture areas like bathroom ceilings and walls. Joints are taped.



Then spackling compound is applied to cover indentations, nail and screw heads, and joints. After curing, it is sanded and compound is applied again in a wider application and feathered on the edges.


The sanding, compound application, and feathering process is repeated as needed until it results in one smooth, flat surface. All joints, indentations, etc. are gone. One last sanding and it's ready for priming and painting.
